Is Fatih safe?
Fatih is not unsafe, it is too cosmopolitan neighborhood… Prefer to stay at or around Sultanahmet and /or Taksim… Unfortunately, some booking sites list SultanAhmet as being within the Fatih district, which is unhelpful since that’s most of the old city. SultanAhmet is a fine place to stay, or Sirkeci perhaps.
