What happened to the Tulsa Shock?
The University of Texas at Arlington will be the new home of the WNBA’s Tulsa Shock — now the Dallas Wings. Bill Cameron, the majority owner of the Tulsa Shock, announced in July that at the end of the season the team was moving from Oklahoma to North Texas. On Monday, Cameron also announced the team’s new name.

Why did the Detroit Shock move to Tulsa?
The team was the sister team of the Detroit Pistons and from 2002 to the 2009 season was coached by Pistons legend Bill Laimbeer. On October 20, 2009, it was announced that the Shock would be moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma to play in the new downtown arena, the BOK Center.
