How is MEPS data collected?
Data collection for the MEPS Household Component takes place using a computer-assisted personal interview (CAPI) system. A core instrument is administered in each of the first five rounds of data collection, with periodic supplements added in selected rounds to deal with specific topics in greater depth.
Is the MEPS IC mandatory?
Participation in MEPS is voluntary. If you choose not to participate, there’s no penalty and you won’t lose any of the government benefits to which you’re entitled. If you do participate, you can withdraw or choose not to answer something for any reason, at any time.
