To receive SAORVIEW your aerial must point towards one of these sites. Digital transmissions technology is different from traditional analogue technology and is operating in the UHF frequency band only. The traditional analogue service was switched off in both the VHF and UHF frequency bands on October 24th 2012.

Why does my Saorview say no signal?

Do I need an outdoor aerial for Saorview?
In order to get a good signal it’s recommend you connect your Saorview equipment to an external aerial on your roof – but just make sure your cabling is good quality. However, depending on your location, you may be able to use an indoor aerial to receive Saorview. If you don’t have an existing aerial, don’t worry.
Can I get Saorview without an aerial?
No. Saorview channels and the Saorview Connect service are only received via your aerial when combined with broadband. Additional satellite channels may be received when you connect the Saorview Connect box to a satellite dish.
Why can’t I get RTÉ on my TV?
If you’re having an issue with playback of RTÉ Player content on your Smart TV, you should first of all confirm that the device is connected to the internet. If you’re able to play content from another service provider then you should check to see if your TV has the latest version of the RTÉ Player app.
Which direction should I point my TV aerial?
